Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take my insurance?
For anyone wondering whether we accept your insurance, you can look it up directly through Headway. Go to https://headway.co and search our provider’s name and select your insurance plan. Headway will instantly tell you if you’re covered and what your copay or cost would be. Using Headway is the fastest and most accurate way to confirm insurance coverage before your appointment. Please note that not all insurance plans run through Headway. This includes Medicare plans. If your plan doesn’t appear on Headway, feel free to reach out and we can help you confirm coverage. We also accept private pay. Contact the office via phone or email to go over private pay pricing.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes! One of our nurse practitioners , Ashmi Patel, is accepting new patients. Dr. Shnaidman is accepting new patients on a case to case basis . Another one of our nurse practitioners, Christine Collins, is currently not accepting new patients at this time.
Where are you located?
Our office location is 475 Wall Street, Princeton, NJ 08540. No worries if you can’t make it to the office, we also offer virtual appointments.
What is a deductible? Why do I have to pay it?
The word deductible is misleading. It is the portion of your medical care that you are financially responsible for before your insurance starts to pay. We cannot predict your deductible as it is different for every insurance plan. However, you have to pay your deductible because it is part of the contract between you and the insurance company, and it ensures that your providers get paid.
Do I have to pay my copay?
Yes, it is actually illegal to waive a copay.
Will insurance pay for my court-ordered psychiatric evaluation?
No. A court-ordered evaluation is not considered medical treatment and there is no doctor-patient relationship.
I’m a student - can I rotate with you?
Yes! If you are a US based medical student you can contact Rutgers medical school [myregistrar@rwjms.rutgers.edu] to arrange either a general or forensic psychiatry rotation or elective. If you are an international medical student, Rutgers no longer sets up the clinical electives for you but you can contact us directly! If you are a nurse practitioner student or a psychology student looking for clinical hours or externship placement, please contact our office directly!
